In 1996, God touched the hearts of a holy group of men and women living in East London, and so they founded St Mary and St George Charity-which follows spiritually and administratively the Coptic orthodox patriarchate, that is run by His Holiness Pope Tawadrous II. Their main aim was to form alter for God, in order to unite and serve the Christians Coptic Orthodox in East London.

The service started with prayers and monthly masses which took place in houses or rented halls, and through God's grace, a lot of priests came to serve our small Christian community...

 

God blessed us again with his compassion, by gifting us with our current church.

The service became more and more regular and Sunday mass became a weekly appointment with God, followed by Sunday school and youth service, plus family and youth meetings every Friday.

Fr Michael Lambros is currently our Parish priest working under the guidance of His Eminence Archbishop Angaelos.
